We pay respects to the Elders past, present and future. Botany Park Preschool extends this respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples here today.
Botany Park Preschool was established with the purpose of providing a high-quality, collaborative, educational and inspiring learning environment. We strive to be inclusive to all children and families within our community. Every opportunity offered will ensure that every child has a ‘positive beginning’ to their lifelong learning journey. It is a learning environment where every child can “Be Me!”
The significance of every child becoming “Me” acknowledges each and every child as unique, engage their minds to foster their innate “Brilliance”. We recognise their strengths and interests, nurture and scaffold their development to support their self-awareness, identify, and cultural competence.
At Botany Park Preschool, we aim to foster their curiosity, driving each child’s treasured understanding of their world and their place within it. Botany Park Preschool will provide the children with a safe environment that lovingly nurtures the children.
We believe that children learn through self-guided and open-ended opportunities for knowledge and appreciate that for children, learning is fun. We believe in providing innovative and engaging programs that will enrich and extend their curiosity and each child’s interests. Our Educational program is play-based, with a combination of child-initiated and adult-facilitated experiences. Our program endeavours to work collaboratively with the children, families and broader community. We are guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, and as professional will strive to work towards achieving the nationally agreed learning outcomes for all children. Through our active listening and reciprocal relationships, we create an educational path that acknowledges the cultural diversity and views of all present within the program.
We will ensure that each child’s day is filled with excitement, encouragement, a sense of belonging, is enriched with knowledge, and establishes crucial links between home and the Centre. We acknowledge and recognise the importance of establishing quality relationships with families. We intrinsically understand that each family’s dynamic is unique. We will acknowledge that the child’s family is the most significant influence in their lives, and we will endeavour to incorporate and respect existing family values. Each child’s individual voice underpins our programs pedagogy and endeavour to promote and celebrate their input. At Botany Park Preschool will honour each family as the child’s significant role model and believe that it is of the utmost importance to continue to build the child’s relationships not only with those around them at the Preschool but with those people they cherish at home. In doing this, we will consistently practice open and effective communication integrating the family’s input into the children’s day.
At Botany Park Preschool, we will provide the children with many opportunities to grow their knowledge and appreciation for their natural environment. We believe children respond with respect when they have a connection to the land, people, animals and plants. With the ever-changing learning environment of the 21st Century, we will aspire to incorporate innovative practices that integrate technological advances and enable access to authentic experiences of building a substantiable society. Our treasured outdoor environment offers spaces for the children to explore, discover and appreciate their natural world. Through the exploration of their senses, questioning and contributing to their world, discovery, creativity and problem-solving and collaborative manner.
